Posts: 245 10/07/08 08:52:59	Tags : None How do you feel about God? Do you believe in a higher being? If so what is your view, what kind of God do you think he is? I know that religion teaches us that God is the big fly swatter in the sky waiting to strike us down for every mistake we make. What if we took religion out of it, would you have a different opinion of God if there were less BS surrounding the concept? Maybe share some of your beliefs, concerns, questions and morals with us. Most of the world believes in some divine force watching over us and governing the universe. Can this just be mass hallucination or a means of distraction to make life on earth more bearable with the promise of a heaven where everything is perfect?

Posts: 75 10/14/08 20:53:57	Jess, I really am not looking for a heaven place where everything is perfect as a way to escape living on earth. I believe everything we imagine about God and the universe and the next plane is probably so far off the mark that we will get a real cold slap in the face. I really think that living on earth is or should be a paradise in itself. Most of our problems are caused by ourelves or by other wicked human forces that want to mold us and drive us crazy with their puny beliefs. I am trying to bust that mold. Anyway I will come back to this but I have to run. Funny I just happened onto this this morning because it is just what I have been thinking about. Jess you and I have a lot in common on this topic. We need to get back to our live chats cause I miss them. I am back on messenger. Hope to see you there.

Posts: 245 12/09/08 05:26:22	Back on topic here, I read something on another message board that really made me think. some guy asked, if God said he will never give us more than we can handle then why are there suicides? I mean obviously that person thought they had reached a point where they could no longer handle it. Someone answered that God decides what is too much. And this kinda pissed me off to think about it. but this person continued to say that its like a parent teaching their child to tie their shoes, the child may think it is impossible and want to give up but the parent is supposed to be there to encourage the child to keep on task and accomplish the goal and get through it to learn that it in fact was not impossible. now in the true spirit of me, I posted something to this affect. If God is this great and wonderful parent that is there to help us through rough times and coach us to keep at it.. Then why all the smoke and mirrors? why all the mystery? why cant he just give it up and be the big booming voice from the sky that says "hey Joe, don't give up buddy i have your back. everything is going to be ok and i promise that I am right here beside you. just a thought....would love to hear more opinions.
